Go 360!

01.06.2017

As video marketing is all about capturing the consumer’s attention, it only makes sense that immersive experiences find their way into the mix. And right now, content in 360 form is growing more rapidly than ever.

Google, Facebook, YouTube and even more recently, Snapchat have all jumped on board and in recent news, Google have just announced that YouTube 360 degree videos are coming soon to TV’s.  They will therefore be expanding beyond smartphones and web browsers for the first time, reaching out to a much wider audience. This means that you can immerse yourself in a different world all from the comfort of your own sofa (no more feeling guilty for not leaving the house!).

With this in mind, it comes as no surprise that many leading brands are embracing 360 content to ensure that consumers are provided with the most unique and impactful experience possible.

Here are some of the best reasons to use 360 videos:

  • Showcasing a product in a new way – 360 videos can hugely benefit the consumer when it comes to purchasing an expensive product. This enables them to view the product at all angles like they could in the real world, so they get the whole “try before you buy” experience without having to go into the store!
  • Showcase an event – a 360 video has got to be one of the most authentic ways to promote or showcase an event. By giving people a chance to immerse themselves, getting a feel for the vibe and what to expect, they are more likely to make sure they don’t miss out next time! • Story telling – 360 videos are great for creating a story behind a business or product, allowing the brand to connect with its customers in a way that traditional marketing can’t. Once people feel a connection with a brand, they are more likely to choose it over other competitors.
  • Perform better –In general, people tend to watch video content in 360 form for longer. They also have higher click through rates and are 42% more likely to share, compared to the standard format.

So there it is, some of the main reasons why brands should definitely consider using 360- degree videos. As well as receiving more positive reactions from users, they provide an exciting and authentic experience for consumers. And with the likes of virtual reality making its way into the mix, we are really excited to see just how immersive video marketing can get!
